Originally, stories were there to celebrate humankind’s capacity to transform the mundane into the utopian. We hear and imbibe the lore of folk and fairy tales and sense that they can help us reach our destiny. However, it is within the context of the culture industry and pop culture that we can learn something about the history of the folk and fairy tales, or rather, why we are so little aware of its true origins, communal belonging and open sourceness.

Fairy tales, folktales and fables have become associated with Disney, Pixar and other commercially created products, which are forbidden to use and therefore neither open for variation through time and space nor changes with each performance. These stories once a reflection of time are now shared through formal, institutional channels, opposite of what characteristics fairytales should actually embody. 

Video essay works with human fish, a Slovenian nationa treasure and how its have been sterilized in order to fit a commercial program called I feel Slovenia. 

It is important to understand how privatization and capitalism are there even in the most sincere, genuine and pure results of human and non human species. If there are stories we can not reach, there is also water we can not touch and woods we can not explore.
